KCET Speed Hack: The 80-Minute 3-Round Strategy

How top rankers manage 60 questions in 80 minutes (1.33 minutes per question).

ROUND 1: 0โ€“35 MINS

The Direct Formula Sweep

Go through all 60 questions. Solve only direct theory and 1-step formula questions (typically 25โ€“30 questions). Mark your answers on the OMR sheet immediately. Never spend more than 45 seconds on any single question in Round 1.

ROUND 2: 35โ€“70 MINS

Calculation & Multistep Problems

Tackle the calculation-heavy problems flagged in Round 1 (Calculus integrals, Kinematics, Chemical kinetics, Circuits). You now have 35 minutes for roughly 15โ€“20 questions, giving you ample time to solve without rushing.

ROUND 3: 70โ€“80 MINS

Zero Negative Marking Elimination

Because KCET has zero negative marking, leaving any question blank is a catastrophic mistake. In the final 10 minutes, use dimensional analysis, option substitution, and educated elimination to fill every remaining OMR bubble!
