AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme 100% Tuition Waived 5% Extra Seats in Every Branch

KCET Supernumerary Quota (SNQ): 100% Tuition Fee Waiver & Cutoffs

The Supernumerary Quota (SNQ) is Karnataka's most powerful financial aid scheme for engineering students. In every single engineering college and branch, an extra 5% seats are created above the sanctioned intake where candidates pay ZERO tuition fee, saving up to ₹4,00,000+ over four years.

Zero Tuition Mandate

Pay Only ~₹32,320/Year Instead of ₹1,20,320/Year

Under AICTE guidelines implemented by KEA, 100% of the ₹88,000 tuition fee is waived. Candidates in unaided private engineering colleges pay only the university fee (₹12,320) and prescribed other fees (₹20,000), making the official payable amount ₹32,320/year (and ₹17,910–₹22,910 in government engineering colleges).

Who is Eligible for KCET SNQ Quota?

1. Family Income < ₹8,00,000/yr

The candidate's total annual family income from all sources (father, mother, guardian) must be strictly less than ₹8,00,000 (Rupees Eight Lakhs) per annum.

2. Valid Nadakacheri RD Number

Must possess an official Income Certificate issued by the jurisdictional Tahasildar via the Nadakacheri portal (Form-E or Form-F) bearing a valid 15-character RD number.

3. Automatic Allotment by Merit

No separate application or fee is required. Once you input your valid Income RD number during KCET online registration, the KEA software automatically considers you for SNQ seats in every college choice you enter.

How Does KEA Allot SNQ Seats During Option Entry?

1. You Don't Pick "SNQ" as a Course: You simply add regular college options (e.g. RVCE - Computer Science). When the KEA allotment algorithm reaches your priority list, it checks whether an SNQ seat is vacant in that branch. If available and your rank qualifies among applicants with < ₹8L income, it allots the SNQ seat automatically!
2. All Categories (GM, OBC, SC, ST) are Eligible: Unlike caste reservation which belongs to specific communities, SNQ is an economic quota open to EVERY category, including General Merit (GM), Category 1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, SC, and ST.
3. What Happens If You Upgrade in Round 2? If you hold an SNQ seat in Round 1 and choose Choice 2 (Hold & Upgrade), you will only upgrade if a higher preference option is allotted. Your SNQ seat remains guaranteed until an upgrade happens.
